Child Injury – £1800 – Scarring To Foot

16/12/2009

Child accident and injury compensation claim example:

A child accident and injury claim was made when a young child stood on a sharp piece of glass that was on the floor in his classroom. A compensation claim by child accident solicitors who acted on behalf of the child obtained £1800. Injuries sustained a cut to the foot.

A child accident and injury claim was made when an 8 year old boy stood on a sharp piece of glass that was left on the floor in a class room. The injured child had stood up and walked towards the classroom door and trod onto the sharp piece of glass. The injured child suffered severe pain.

From the evidence from the School it appears that about 1 week prior to the accident the window within the class room had been broken accidentally when the school was being renovated.  It appears that loose fragment of glass had been left behind after it was cleared which resulted in injury to the infant child.

The injured child went to see the school’s first aider for advice and treatment. The child’s parent was telephoned at work to collect the child and take him to hospital. The wound was cleaned and dressed.

The child suffered from pain and discomfort for a period of about 3 months.  He was unable to attend school for 1 week during which time he found it difficult to weight bear.

The Child accident and Injury compensation solicitors obtained compensation for £1800 for child’s accident. The child’s mother (known as the litigation friend) also received compensation for expenses in looking after her child.

The child accident and injury solicitors acted on a NO WIN NO FEE agreement and recovered all legal costs off the insurance company. The infant child received 100% compensation and 0% legal costs which was approved by the Court.
