A three year old child has been left with facial disfigurement (facial scarring to child) after he was struck in the face by a small firework whilst at a display with his family.
The child accident claim happened when the child had been standing behind fencing panels watching the display with his older siblings when a firework in the distance was misplaced and fell on its side, shooting straight at the fence where the child was standing.
The firework exploded as it struck the fence, leaving the child who was face level with the fence seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital where he had suffered severe lacerations and burns to his face.
The child has been left with severe facial scarring following the accident.
