In this case by the child accident solicitors, a child was injured when he fell against a exposed blot on a gate post. The child sustained a puncture wound to his lower back. Immediately after the accident the child was taken to hospital where the wound was cleaned and stitched under local anesthetic. The wound was 4cm long and a few millimetres deep, the child had to attend his local doctors for the wound to be re-dressed. The wound was painful when knocked though healed in two months.
The accident left a scar of which the child was concerned about the appearance.
The child did not attended school for two weeks and had disturbed sleep.
