Child Injury in Shop

The Claimant child, aged 11 years old, injured in shop following a defective shelf which fell on top of him when he was shopping with his mum.

The Claimant child  pointed at the shoes he wanted to try on when the shop assistant attempted to get them down off the shelf.

In doing so, the shelf fell on top of the Claimant child and he sustained a deep laceration to his nose.

After some investigation & consideration of the CCTV footage, it became apparent that the Defendant shop owner were at fault and negligent for the defective fitting of the shelf.

The Claimant child was left with permanent scarring and received £2,100.00 in compensation as a result of the incident.
