Child suffers broken and chipped teeth after fall in playground
The accident which caused the injuries happened when the child tripped over a concrete bench and fell onto his face. The child was running away from friends during a game, and jumped over a low level concrete bench. The child caught his foot on the edge of the bench, tripped and banged his mouth on the bench, causing him injury.
As a result the child sustained two broken front incisors, chipped teeth and a nosebleed. It was necessary that he visited the dentist on 11 occasions and he required seven repeat fillings to the two front teeth.
Medical evidence told the court that the child would require further treatment to have his two front teeth crowned when his teeth had stopped growing.
The child was awarded £6,300 in compensation.
