The bus driver of a school bus braked heavily at traffic lights, which had turned red.  The bus driver was sued by the child’s head injury solicitors.  The child was 12 years old at the time of the accident and claimed compensation.

As a result of the bus driver’s actions the child was thrown forward and struck his head on the metal bar immediately in front of the child.  The school child suffered from a head injury causing headaches, dizzy spells, whiplash pain and psychological trauma.

Whilst a passenger in a motor vehicle driven by the child’s father, another vehicle struck their vehicle from behind whilst it was stationary at traffic lights.  The child who was 6 at the time was sitting in a child seat and wearing a seat belt.  The mother who was a front seat passenger instructed the child head injury and accident solicitors.

A child was injured when a car pulled out of a side road onto a major road hitting the child’s vehicle that the child was travelling in from the side.  The child’s head made an immediate impact with the car’s window causing a minor head injury.

The child also suffered from neck pain.  The pain radiated down to the child’s right shoulder and low back.  The child made a complete recovery within about 11 months from the date of the accident.

Child accident solicitors represented an injured child who was travelling as a passenger in a car.  At the time of the accident the child was 14 years old.  The child was a back seat passenger wearing a seat belt.

In a road traffic accident a child suffered from severe head injury and brain stem damage.  The child also suffered from fracture to the clavicle  and injury to the cervical spine.  The head injury resulted in permanent brain damage, with various difficulties with language, concentration, headaches and increased risk of epilepsy in addition to other injuries.

At the infant approval hearing (some 11 years after the accident when the child was 16 years) solicitors for the child advised that the child had made a good recovery from the child’s orthopaedic injuries however had a range of difficulties in respect of the head injury such as impaired memory and concentration, headaches, fatigue language difficulties amongst other symptoms.

The judge awarded the child the sum of £53,000 for the injuries but the total award was over £700,000 which the court allowed additional sums for future loss of earnings, care claim, medical expenses and various aids and equipment amongst others.
